layered planting for bugs

ChELTENHAM - GARDEN DESIGN - 2020

Two years ago, we were called on to create a planting plan for a tricky East-facing sloping border in the rear garden of this Cheltenham home. The young family wanted the garden to connect them to their surrounding area, with planting providing shelter and food for local wildlife. We came up with a design utilising a dense matrix of plants of varying heights to offer year-round cover for insects, and beautiful flowering plants which provide nectar and pollen for bees and butterflies.
